Make Your Morning Joyful

"Time is a created thing. To say 'I don't have time,' is like saying, I don't want to." - Lao Tzu -
A good morning will set you up for a good day. I found myself rushing through it, pressured, feeling like I don't have time. I remember being a kid and jumping up so excited for the day ahead. Also, my company is about enjoying coffee... taking the moments pause in a busy day to feed your soul with the delicious beverage we love.
So, I made a few small changes that helped me add joy to my morning routine. If you can relate... maybe, with these ideas, we can get back to the joyful, childlike exhilaration of a new day beginning.
*Night Shift: Prepare some things the night before. Just before I get in bed, I pack the bags I need for the morning. Backpacks ready and water thermoses are washed. My coffee gear is lined up. I have my mug on a plate ready for my morning breakfast. This makes the breakfast table feel like a cafe with the dishes ready for the next seating. Make sure the coffee brewer is clean and ready.
*The Best Kind of Morning Breath: Wake up early enough to take at least a 4-minute meditation. Waking up with your eyes still closed and focusing on your breath, even for just 4-minutes, helps begin the day feeling grounded and strong. It's like stretching your soul before you wake up.
*A Side of Jam: Instead of the news, or going directly to your phone, add ambiance with your favorite music. "Alexa - play jazz music" or anything calming that you love. Some of my personal favorites are Van Morrison, The Police, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell... I can go on, but this is your "jam";).
The overall theme here is to relax and set up your home like a cafe. Offer yourself the same mood you would on a relaxed day off, strolling into your favorite coffee shop. The smell of fresh roasted coffee in the air, mug ready for the pour, with your favorite music in the background.
Let's brew up a morning to look forward to! In the coming weeks we will explore some great home brew methods to add character to your At Home Cafe. For now let's just say... ahhhh, relax and cherish your moments... one sip at a time!
Cheers,
