Making Memories on Thanksgiving Morning
Share
“The heart that loves is forever young.” - Greek Proverb -
Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays. Waking up in the morning, after a cup of hot coffee, I usually start cooking the soup. I turn on the TV as the Macy's Thanksgiving parade is preparing to begin. When the parade begins my heart swells with that feeling of love. Another year has gone by and all of my memories of the year, my childhood, and my family fill me up with joy.
Enjoying the moments and reflecting through traditions, while knowing you are making beautiful memories for the little ones makes Thanksgiving, and the Holiday season so special.

A great activity for kids in the kitchen is making roasted vegetables with letter cookie cutter stencils. You can cut vegetables such as potato, sweet potato, carrots, and squash and use these small or large cookie cutters for your kids to cut out letters. (The rest of the veggies can be cut into cubes for the adults.) You can season and roast these for a fun kid's Thanksgiving side dish.
Another great Thanksgiving activity for kids are holiday theme collages. All you need to have on hand are some food, decor or kids magazines from the season. You can cut some themed words, letters, and pictures out and keep a magazine for them to do their own cutting, if you like, too. School glue and tape, and maybe some dried autumn leaves add variety to the craft. Also, I love these "Colors of Kindness" Crayons and Markers from Crayola.
May tradition fill your Thanksgiving table with love and joy as memories are made with family, food, and lots of fun!
