Making Morning Fun Again

"Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart." - Winnie the Pooh -
Sometimes the morning rush can turn into a stressful part of the day. Beds unmade, pajamas thrown everywhere, kids want to play, parents want everyone sitting down for breakfast, time is running out before school starts, or we have to get to work. It doesn't have to be this way. If we put a little prep time in (small details can make a big difference) morning can be fun again!
*Evening Prep: Starting the evening before (after the kids go to bed) we can prep the table. Dishes can be set for breakfast with crayons and coloring pages ready and waiting. Think of setting it up as it would be going to your favorite kid friendly cafe for breakfast. Also, scan through your breakfast options to see what you have that you can turn into a nice offering with variety for the kids. Cereals, boiled eggs, washed fruit, and toast or crackers with jam, ready to make a fun and enticing mini breakfast buffet.
*Disney Magic: Add ambiance with calming kid friendly music such as the Bluey soundtrack. Also, crayons and paper at the table are a nice way to add to the cafe/restaurant mood.
*Make Breakfast Fun: With your ideas from the night before on hand, put together a pick-able mini breakfast buffet with some hands-on interactive options for the kids. Peelings eggs, peeling banana, pouring their own milk into cereal, a spreader with jam next to toast. Think a tiny hotel style breakfast buffet. Plus, it's always nice to add a desert option. We like to have a fun cookie on hand, so after a healthy, filling breakfast, there's one more fun item to look forward to as we toast to a sweet day ahead!
Cheers,
